[Kira sits under the camera, grinning a bit in expectation. She takes a deep breath as she looks around, and then addresses her audience, such as it is.]

Okay, so after getting settled in the first thing I did was go up on the deck. It's funny how you see movies and look at pictures in books, but it's totally true that nothing can prepare you for how vast space actually is. It seems like people have two reactions to it, either they're completely overwhelmed by it, like in a bad 'I can't take this' way, or they think it's amazing.

[She leans forward earnestly.]

It's amaaaaazing!

[She bounces in her chair, though gradually she slows down, and settles into a more serious expression.]

I haven't been assigned an inmate yet, and to be honest, I'm nervous. I mean, I'm supposed to help them, right? But what if I can't? What if they don't want to be helped? What if I have to - I don't know, I'm not particularly mean or anything. But what if I have to be?

[Her mouth scrunches up a little.]

I'll figure this out. I have to.

[Maybe indicating she has doubts or worries about her performance as a warden is a mistake, but well, live and learn, little kitsune.]

[Stiles is sitting on his bed when he hears the familiar voice and his gaze darts to the comm, eyes widening when he sees Kira's face. He quickly gets up and moves to his desk, scooping it up in one hand.]

Kira?

[He holds his breath, wondering what's brought her to the Barge. Already a thousand questions are flitting through his mind and there's unmistakable worry on his face.]

I'm not possessed.

[Because other than Erica, everyone from home who's shown up has been pretty wary right at first, and Erica probably would have been if she'd known anything about it.]

[Big ol' smile. Maybe not as big as for, oh, say, some people, but the wattage is still impressive.]

Of course you're not possessed. I mean, I kind of stuck a katana in the nogitsune who turned into a little fly who got trapped in the triskelion box courtesy of Isaac. You know, like you do.

I didn't realize you were here! Are any of the others?

[So she's from after. He exhales, nodding and relaxing as she tells him the same story of how they defeated the nogitsune that Scott had.]

Yeah. Yeah, there's...quite a few of us from home here actually. Scott and Lydia and Isaac and Erica -- whom sorta...um, died before you came to town. And.

[He bites his lip.]

[Iris answers from the labs: you can tell because she's got her communicator propped to give a view of a benchful of apparatus that resembles the unlikely offspring of a mass spectrometer, a telescope and a mixing deck.

She's wearing protective goggles and a ratty labcoat covered in stains, burns, stickers and badges, and she looks up at the comm and grins sunnily.]

Welcome to the "this place is bloody amazing" club, Kira love. I'm Iris.

Try not to fret about the inmate thing. Or not too much, any road. They're all just people; you'll find you and them 'ave to work it out between you. Not very many of 'em want to be 'elped, or think they need it: just find out what they do need and see you give it 'em. That's usually the best place to start.

I'd ask you to meet up for a drink but I've got me 'ands a bit full just at the moment. Crises never 'ave the decency to 'appen one at a time.

I'm kind of underage where I'm from but I don't know if that applies on the Barge. I get that you're busy, so maybe sometime soon?

[Lydia is smiling before she even reaches for her communicator. She recognizes the voice, of course, and it's pretty clear Kira is a Warden. Like she'd be anything else.]

You should have some time before you're assigned, anyway. Don't worry too much about it just yet.

[And she's still smiling now that she has the video on, still. But it does make her wonder who else from home is going to end up here. Because people keep showing up and so far, they have all come because they asked to be here. Because of their deal. She hopes this doesn't change.]

[It's not yelled as such, but it's clearly an exclamation of glee. She Kira opens her arms in a curved parody of a ballerina's arms in a horizontal second position.]

[The military is still ironed into every aspect of him, from his straight-backed posture to his precise diction to the schooled politeness of his expression. Only the intelligence behind his bright brown eyes belies it, though the careful neutrality probably makes it difficult to tell that he isn't, actually, reprimanding her.

He's curious.]

[She either purposefully or completely innocently misconstrues his formality as reprimand; it may be hard to tell.]

[Facilier leans forward, a smile crossing his features. He's not sure what this young lady is, other than a fox-shaped-something, but he'd bet his last dollar that she was something powerful. More to the point, she's something powerful with what seems to be a rampant case of idealism. The perfect sort for him to manipulate, when the time comes, really. ]

I'm glad ya'll enjoying yourself, darlin'. And don't you worry none, I bet when you get an inmate of your very own, you'll be a natural at it.

[There's a little smile pulling at his face, and some of the stress melts. It's not forgotten, but he doesn't want to freak her out right off the bat.]

[Allison flinches a little...pure surprise, because somehow she never actually thought that she would show up...when Kira's voice suddenly comes from her comm as she's about to check around for messages. Flicking on a video feed, she's not even aware that she's smiling.

It's just...Kira. She's still new to the pack from Allison's perspective, but she's genuine and sweet, and she makes Scott happy. Yes, Scott's seeing someone else on the Barge, but Kira was the first one Allison really trusted with her first love.

So she smiles at hearing her voice, reflexive and unthinking, without stopping to check the other replies she's already gotten.]

Kira? Breathe, honey. You'll do fine. [The last comes on the edge of a laugh.]

[Isaac was not someone Kira got to know greatly when she first started hangin' with the Beacon Hills crew, but he's played an important role in defeating the nogitsune. And of course there was also the thing going on with him an Allison. Kira had thought it sweet.

So she beams at him when his face appears on her video.]
